Recent Trauma EMDR therapy works to support your brain in processing what you’ve recently gone through and ensure that it doesn’t become a trauma that leads to anxiety, depression, and/or PTSD. How Does Recent Trauma Therapy Work?


  • When you've experienced a recent traumatic event, you want to receive support to your brain as soon after the event as possible.

    We will do a brief assessment to ensure your safety and ability to participate in the therapy, and then will begin reprocessing as soon as possible, likely the first day we meet.

    This type of EMDR therapy is different than traditional EMDR therapy and is meant for crisis response and is safe to receive immediately/soon after a traumatic event.

    This takes 1-4 sessions to complete.

  • Over time, you may need to meet with me on occasion to support your brains natural processing of the traumatic event.

    In this case, we will schedule an individual session, help your brain process, and you will be on your way feeling more in control and able to heal on your own.
